Purely Fruits and Vegetable Fed

We are proud of our pastured, free ranging native pigs.  They are on a purely Azolla, fruits and vegetables diet, not having been given grains.  The pigs are such big grass eaters too and are natural tillers, as they nose their way around and all through the area.

This is exciting for us as we learned the ropes.  Expanding this line in the farm. The butcher himself can't believe that he has seen backfat that "thin".  Clients said they had never had pork taste this good, and they were getting our regular naturally farmed white pigs already.

Probably the pure fruits and vegetables diet and the exercise they got being pastured :)

We roasted a pata the other day. Take note of the bottom of the rack....no oil!

View from the top, as the Roasted Pata was to be taken out of the rack.  You can see how clear the bottom was.  The yellow hue of the picture is the color of the table top.

Care to order?  PHP350/kilo for the frozen cuts.

Happy Pigs

We had to walk about 15mins from the beach to the field office of Andres Soriano Foundation in Manamoc island in Palawan.

First there were dried Seaweeds on the beach. Then I was greeted by a lot of happy pigs! No pens - on a long noose so they can walk around and exercise, on natural beddings (as the whole place is really sand), given fruits and vegetables for food.

I think most of the pigs were smiling as we were walking by....hmmmmmm, they might be saying that they saw a fat visitor :)

Our guides were telling us that some things are common in each household: Pigs, Rimas tree and a member who is employed at Amanpulo Resort.

Where do the happy pigs go? Mostly to Amanpulo tables and to the nearby islands.

HERBaboy

We had been looking for a good supplier of naturally grown pigs. Almost gave up on it as it was hard to get one that jived with our drivers' schedules, supply was inconsistent, or maybe they just didn't want to deal with me :)

Enter the Davao trip. Proper timing and delays work for the best. We had no intention to market Andry and Jojie's pigs in Manila as it will be costly, time consuming plus a lot of effort on our part.

But...
1) seeing the contented pigs in the farm
2) observing how the feeds were made
3) drinking the fermented juice the pigs are having
4) smelling, seeing and almost tasting the feeds before being fed to the pigs
5) meeting Andry and Jojie, seeing that they practice what they preach
6) eating great sinugba

I knew I wanted to eat and consume this for ourselves and what comes next...we sell it at Organika. That is our focus anyway, to sell only what we ourselves use and consume.

What should be a most fitting brand? HERBaboy....why do you think we decided to call it such?
