Move Positively
Do you get the feeling for the past year, that all we hear and read on multimedia are all so negative? They are all talking about the glass half EMPTY!!!
Doc Rey and I were discussing that it scares people to move. Most people don't want to invest nor work. It is as if talking about it will ease up the situation.
The other morning, I was watching a segment on a morning TV program. It featured the Makati Fire Department, showing a fire drill. It also taught that we don't panic when there is an LPG leak that causes the tank to ignite a fire. You are just supposed to go behind the fire and close the valve of the tank....it won't explode. When the fire gets big and the tank is subjected to intense heat, that it the time it explodes. Many years back, I was also taught that when fire breaks in the premises of a gas station, just make sure that the doors of the underground tanks are closed. The fuel stored underground won't be affected.
Also, they taught how to operate a fire extinguisher. If I had to go on "Family Feud" and asked, "what is one thing you don't know will work until you need it?"...my reply will be "fire extinguisher". There was acronym that reminds you the steps...w/c I forget now ahahahha. But the important thing I learned was that you train the nozzle at the base of the fire and not to the flames.
Point here is YES, we have problems. But we should do something about it. Educate people to correct the situation. Train people to do other things instead of staying stuck to problems. Look elsewhere. Think out of the box.
Today was a good sign again. We had a longgggggggggggg schedule from dawn to midnight. At about 10am, as we were preparing to go for lunch meeting, Doc Rey gets a call from DZMM's Talakan if he may be interviewed over the phone. The production assistant (PA) went on to describe their program, introducing the hosts etc...I was busy and in a hurry. I asked WHEN. They said today. I asked WHERE, they said they can do a telephone patch. I asked if they wanted live, because it is sooooo different to get across when it is live and Q &As are with eye contact with the hosts.
They were so happy we can do live. Good that lunch was very near ABS-CBN.
You can't move if you are negative. You get stuck or even fall back.
Read about Talakan:
As its title suggests, Talakan (Talakayan at Kantiyawan) is a satirical yet optimistic way of discussing hard core news, public affairs, and showbiz gossips.
Anchors Ahwel Paz and Manny CastaƱeda do a rundown of the latest issues of the day and discuss it one by one. The tandem’s distinct comical way of presenting developing news is indeed a breather to listeners and viewers from all the negative news and issues they encounter daily.
With segments like “Trulaloo o Eklavoo” and “Trivia o Chorva”, Talakan educates and at the same time entertains a wide range of hooked followers--from jeepney drivers, office staff, housewives, online listeners, and even TFC subscribers worldwide. (Source: www.dzmm.com.ph)

Radio Programs
Because the radio reaches a broad audience and cross segments, we are excited when we get invited for radio interviews. Guesting invitations had been accepted for various shows.
DWWW's Kaunlaran sa Agrikultura (774, Sun 4:30-7:30am) has Doc Rey regularly as Vet ng Bayan. ABS-CBN's DZMM's Kabukiran (630, Sat and Sun 4:40-6am) guests Doc Rey often and he is invited in their out of town seminars. Both agriculture programming.
Last week an FM station in Southern Tagalog, based in Batangas has met us during Agrilink and wants to feature Sunshine Chicken in their negosyo program. We go there after All Saint's Day as they want a live interview.
Another exciting invitation is by DZRH through Eng. Pol Rubia of AANI. Sunshine Chicken will be on their agriculture show aired Saturdays 7:30-9am, fed nationwide except Metro Manila...:) which is really the market that should be reached.
See you on the air!

Great Choice, La Traviesa
We woke up early for the regular Sunday, DWWW's Kaunlaran sa Agrikultura. Been having long nights and days lately so we were sort of feeling under, but had to head to DZMM's Sa Kabukiran''s invitation to do a seminar in Cavite.
Driving at a leisurely pace, we didn't go through the diversion road but negotiated the old road, bringing back memories of childhood trips to Cavite beaches :)
Getting to La Traviesa, we were greeted by nice, airy architecture. The guard led us to the pool area where the seminar room was. Very nice! There was a pool that looked out to a rice field. From the well furnished seminar room on the 2nd floor, I was able to go around and get the view 360degrees. You see the soon to open spa wellness area, the fields around that refreshes your mind and eyes, and the pool that is clean and inviting. The hotel rooms were tastefully furnished, clean and airy.
I have to work first and set up... but then, they had everything prepared. Projector, screen..all I had to do was plug the laptop.
It was really good vibes all the way. The crowd came from all over Cavite, and we should say nationwide! There were several who came from Manila, Visayas, OFWs etc. The hosts, owners of La Traviesa were most hospitable.
Perfect location as Gen Trias is accessible from both Coastal and SLEX.
It was a good seminar, although limited time...Doc Rey gave a good one :)

When Opportunity Knocks...
Be ready to open the door.
At about 10am today, Doc Rey gets a call from DZMM if they can schedule to interview a Sunshine grower. So Doc Rey calls me to ask WHO do we send?
I asked several questions:
1) when
2) live or phone patch
3) teleradyo too?
He had to get back to me. He didn't ask too. Saturday and phone patch was possible...hmmmm...
I thought about the possible growers who can do a live guesting. Live ones are more alive and exchange inside the studio is energetic. Called up several growers. They weren't picking up their cellphones nor landlines! No reply to my texts :(
Plan B. Get a grower who is a livewire and that a phone patch will be feasible....He/She should be well spoken and not timid to do a vibrant exchange with people he has never met!
One text to my Benguet grower...reply was PRONTO! That is why he was the perfect choice :) Laging handa!
I am happy to be able to market a Sunshine grower whenever necessary. Listen to Jonathan on Saturday, July25 at about 4:30am...Sa Kabukiran, over DZMM 630khz. They are also shown over Teleradyo of Abs-Cbn DZMM, shown nationwide.
P.S. The growers I have marketed in interviews will be able to certify that we don't have scripts for them. I just wish them "good luck" :)

Radio Parties
Sure, today, 14th of December is the last weekend before the Christmas week. It follows that there were a lot of parties the week the passed, if you are a social butterfly....officemates, your partner's officemates, your friends, partner's friends, relatives, their relatives. Next weekend will be for the closer circle of friends and family :) Actually the week starts as the wedding day of a dear person :)
Today, we had two Christmas parties, both for radio programs. First on the agenda was the breakfast party of DWWW's KSA's (Kaularan sa Agrukultura) Agri Kapihan and then lunch at DZMM's TeleRadyo Sa Kabukiran.
Save for a handfull, the two parties had totally different crowds and listeners/audience base.
It is nice to have a face to texts that you receive from readers and listeners alike.
